City Still Awaits Final Decision About Full Day School

Until now, Jakarta Education Dept is still awaiting a final decision of the central government regarding full-day school.

We have to make adjustments, it should be clear who would be responsible since the hours after school until late afternoon

"We're awaiting the final decision. As a note, our school system applies double shift," expressed, Sopan Adrianto, Head of Jakarta Education Dept, Thursday (8/11).

He explains, at this time, schools in the capital which does not apply double shift have done learning and studying activities (KBM) until late afternoon with extracurricular activities.

Full Day School, Student Nutrition will Be Improved

"We have to make adjustments, it should be clear who would be responsible since the hours after school until late afternoon. Is it necessary to eat or not. So it must be studied," he said.

He continued, it is important if the full day school is applied. Including teacher hours which takes about 30.5 hours plus 24 hours for a face to face each week.

"The effect is large enough. Which is why we await the final decision from the central government," he stated.

At this time, school with double shift system is dominated by elementary school. From 1,643 schools, around 400-500 schools use double shift.
